Accessibility Statement

1. Our commitment

W89 GmbH wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability, assistive technology, or device. We measure ourselves against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, conformance level AA.

A benchmark is not a certification: this website has not been audited by an independent accessibility body. The statements below are based on our own review.

2. What is in place

• The entire website can be operated by keyboard alone, without a mouse.
• A skip link at the top of each page leads directly to the main content.
• Focused elements are visibly highlighted.
• There are no overlays, pop-ups, or cookie notices that obscure content or interrupt operation.
• Colour contrast for text and user interface elements was designed against the requirements of level AA in both the light and the dark appearance.
• Visitors who have enabled reduced motion in their operating system receive no animations and no moving background.
• The site uses semantic HTML with a consistent heading structure so that screen readers convey the page structure correctly.
• Content remains readable without horizontal scrolling at screen widths from 320 pixels and at up to 200 percent text zoom.
• The language of each page is marked up machine-readably so that screen readers pronounce content correctly.

3. Known limitations

• The animated background on the home page is purely decorative. It is hidden from screen readers and is replaced by a static surface when reduced motion is requested or when a device lacks the required graphics support.
• This website has not been tested with every common screen reader and browser combination. If something is not accessible with your setup, please tell us.
• Without JavaScript, the email addresses on this website are not readable. Our hosting provider inserts them in obfuscated form to protect them from automated harvesting and restores them only in the browser. If you have JavaScript switched off, you see the placeholder "[email protected]" instead of the address, and the link goes nowhere. This affects every address on this website, including the reporting address given in Section 4 and the addresses in the legal notice. Without JavaScript, the way to reach us is the postal address in the legal notice: W89 GmbH, Zugerstrasse 6, 6330 Cham, Switzerland. We know this is more cumbersome, which is why we state it here rather than leave it unsaid.
• The page w89.ch/mw embeds a booking calendar from a third-party provider. Its operability rests with that provider; we can neither test nor guarantee it. The statement in Section 2 that the entire website can be operated without a mouse therefore does not extend to the content of that calendar. Without JavaScript the calendar is not loaded at all; a plain link to the calendar at the provider appears in its place. To arrange a meeting, an email or a letter to the address in the legal notice is always sufficient as well.

If you encounter a barrier or need content in an alternative format, write to us at [email protected]. Please describe the page concerned and, if possible, the device and assistive technology you are using. If the address is not readable for you, see the last limitation in Section 3.

We confirm receipt within five working days and let you know how and by when we will address the issue.

5. Legal context

W89 GmbH is a private company based in Switzerland. The Swiss Disability Discrimination Act (BehiG) primarily binds federal and cantonal bodies; it imposes no direct website requirements on private providers. We nonetheless follow the recognised international standards, as a quality requirement we set for our own work.
